The images of today operate as like as screens in our brains. They are not sensed as like as instant and unmovable pictures or photos but thought as like as durable and movable images of cinemas or holograms. By revealing the movability, relatedness, spatiality and temporality of images, this concept of image becomes essential and basic to make the philosophical thought on pop culture in the 21st century possible, This is the same to the modern poetry into which the dramatic, narrative, and cinematic grammars, in the mixture of poetry with the features of pop culture as a whole, have been impressed naturally. In this sense, the concept of image, as a new paradigm of modern poetry, has to be set up by appropriating Gilles Deleuze's cinematic images. The poetic images of the pure movability of modern poetry are therefore classified into four types, and each of the types is analyzed by way of illustration. The concept of image is considered by assuming the movability and relatedness of images, and the basic units of analyzing images are presented. The analytic units are of poetic images that have been turned into the plan(frame)/scene/montage. On this ground, four poetic images are considered as follows. In Kim Gwanggyun's “A Lyric of an Autumn Day” and Kim Jongsam's “A Drumming Boy,” the perception-image outlines the whole of things which are intermingled with sensation, mind, consciousness, and memory. In Yi Yongak's “A Shabby House” and Jang Seoknam's “A Nostalgic Side of Rillet,” the action-image pursuits the communicative and performative movements in connection with the verbalized ‘gestures.’ In Choi Seungja's “Cheonggyecheon Elegy” and Heo Sugyeong's “A Far-off House to Go Alone,” the affection-image closes up the forms, qualities, and situations as situational properties as emotions, sensitivities, sentiments, and impulses. In Yi Sang's “Crow's Eye View: the 13th Poem” and Kang Sungeun's “Ghost,” the cristal-image thinks the indiscernible point that is organic and impossible to describe realistically. With the concepts and typification of images useful to analyze, the poetics of images in new paradigm is tried by illustrating typical poems of Korean modern poetry. In this point, a possibility of the philosophic discussion to trigger poetic thoughts from the analyses of poetic images presents itself through the concept of image which is characterized by movability, relatedness, spatiality, and temporality. In conclusion, the poetics of images in the 21st century is to develop itself by its analyses and thoughts of the imaginal units and processes of images as parts of one pome as a whole.
