This paper describes conceptual metaphor theory and cognitive neural network, showing that literary language has a great place in cognitive linguistics and science. Lakoff and Johnson claim that the cognitive unconscious is vast and intricately structured. It includes not only all our automatic cognitive operations, but also all our implicit knowledge. Metaphor is means usual that we use it automatically and unconsciously, with so little trouble that we hardly notice it. Paul Churchland suggests the representational theory from results of neural network. According to the theory of representations, the representations of our selves and world can be represented as the places of stage state spaces with the exercises of the neurons. This paper takes to research the part of representations and metaphors in Robert Frost's poetry. I try to analyze cognitive theory and the theory of representations to a poem titled “The Ax-Helve.” Thus, it can be concluded that this study suggests that critical thought in consilience of the studies should make questions as to our basic principles and give them fresh creative theories.
