Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore attitudes of the general public towards death with dignity and to identify variables affecting the atti tudes. Methods: Data for the study were derived from the 2013 Korean General Social Survey which collected them from a national sample of 1,294 adults aged 18 and up who lived in households in Korea using face-to-face interviews with a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, bivariate analysis and logistic regression analysis. Results: The rate of agreement with death with dignity was 76.1%. Among the variables in the study, religion, education, income, living standard, individualism and fatalism appeared to be significant in predicting the attitudes towards death with dignity. Conclusions: Policies and programs for death with dignity need to develop in accordance with the attitudes of general peo ple towards death with dignity.
