Generally, a method of installing a steel brace in a frame is widely used for seismic retrofit of existing buildings, but a problem may occur in structural safety due to buckling of the brace after the elastic range due to large slenderness ratio. Therefore, in this study, in order to prevent buckling of the brace and improve the seismic performance of the frame, a friction damper is installed in the brace so that the brace and the friction damper can behave stably.
