The Sino-US rivalry has been intensifying despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The fierce competition between the two great powers are represented by collision between the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) and the Indo-Pacific Strategy. The Biden Administration, as a clear signal of departure from the previous Administration’s harmful unilateral approach, pledged the return of the US’ role of leading and working with partners, allies and global institutions, Yet the hardline policy toward Beijing continues under the Biden Administration. The competition has expanded to the European Continent moving beyond the Indo-Pacific region. In order to overcome the paucity of scholarly literature analyzing the intensifying Sino-US rivalry in Europe, this paper attempts to shed light on the conduct and process of the battleground in Europe. The manuscript covers the Chinese efforts of promoting BRI in Europe, the US counteraction, the reactions of NATO and EU against the Chinese encroachment on Europe’s values and security, the Balkan showdown, and the involvement of some of the key European countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
