This study was conducted to increase the efficiency of making seaweed bed by transplanting seedlings in underwater for the recovery of the genus Grateloupia asiatica(Rhodophyta) resources. In the sea transplant method, a crust was used as a seedling at the life stage of G. asiatica and a method of attaching erect thalli by attaching a biodegradable plastic plate to an underwater was used. Seedlings to be transplanted into the sea were erect thallii grown on crusts maintained continuously in a culture tank. The first and second sets were established erect-thalli to 2 m depth in the subtidal rocks respectively in April and June. Growths were measured by thalii length, width, wet weight and also maturity was observed by the formation of reproductive cells. The maximum growth over 12weeks of transplanted crust-thalli(19.4±1.1 mm) first set of landers in April appeared in early July.
