Ark shell (Scapharaca subcrenata) is a representative aquatic product that is produced over 90% in the southern coast of Korea. This study was performed to evaluate the survivability of S. subcrenata in the tidal flat of west coast. S. subcrenata (1.4g±0.4 g) was transported a total of 4 tons from Janheung, Jeollanam-do and transplanted 2 tons each in two regions, Songgyeo-ri, Hwaseong and Haengnanggog, Ansan. Also, Each area was divided into a tidal flat exposed by the tide and a non-exposed area (within 10m of water depth) and each 1 ton of S. subcrenata was sprayed on each area. We monitored the growth and survival rates of S. subcrenata transplanted in both regions every two months from April to December 2019. In Haengnanggok, the weight of S. subcrenata in the exposed area increased from 1.4g in April to 10.6g in December. On the other hand, the unexposed area grew by 7.6g until October, but death occurred between October and December. The shell length in the exposed area increased from 17.9mm to 33.5mm until December, and grew 29.6mm in the unexposed area until October.
