Background/Aims
As breast cancer has been diagnosed in early stage and neoadjuvant chemotherapy has been applied to locally advanced state, demand for cosmetic outcomes has been increasing. Several studies revealed that robot-assisted nipple-sparing mastectomy (RANSM) showed favorable outcomes compared with conventional nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) owing to 3-dimensional camera and flexible instruments of robotic surgical system. SP system specifically enables mastectomy with minimal incision, not interfering with each instrument. This study analyzed technical feasibility and surgical safety of robotic SP system.

Methods
This study retrospectively reviewed 75 cases of 64 patients who underwent RANSM with immediate reconstruction using da Vinci SP system at Severance Hospital from 2018 to 2021. The clinical information such as age, body mass index, ptosis grade, smoking history and germline mutation were assessed. The post -operative pathologic results regarding histology, TNM stage, histologic grade, and subtype of breast cancer were evaluated. The type of axillary operation and reconstruction, and perioperative comp ... 전체 초록 보기
