Phospholipids are amphiphilic materials that are consisting of bio-membranes. Phospholipids are self-assembled in the aqueous solution and compose the bilayered membrane. Among them, bicelle is a self-assembled bio-membrane, which has the disk-like morphology. The bicelle has potentials in structural studies of membranes, composing artificial cell-membrane. So, it has been dealt with as an important subject in many studies. Due to its structural characteristics, bicelles can be transitioned into the vesicles by dilutions, it can be utilized as a pre-vesicle substance.
