This paper introduces a prior study of the ‘是······的’ Construction and analyze the Semantic Functions of the ‘是······的’ Construction based on it. The results are as follows.
First, the Construction ‘是······的’② that represents the speaker"s subjective attitude is related to Modality and indicates the meaning of "Confidence" and "Judgment". Therefore, using the ‘是······的’ Sentence Pattern adds to the speaker"s subjective attitude to the Proposition, which mitigates the Firmness by Subjectively speaking the Facts.
Second, the Sentence in which the object is located after ‘的‘ is focused on the Sentence Component placed in the Idioms. On the other hand, the Sentence with the object in front of ‘的’ becomes the Focus of the Sentence Component immediately after the Verb ‘是’ and all Phrases and Clauses within ‘是······的’ become new information.
