Introduction and Background
To evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes in terrible triad injuries between the patients without coronoid fracture fixation and with internal fixation, and to provide an opinion on the criteria for determining whether to fix a coronoid fracture in terrible triad injuries or not.
Material and Method
Fifteen patients of acute terrible triad injuries without involvement of anteromedial facet of coronoid process were included to evaluate the postoperative clinical and radiological outcomes (minimum 20 months follow-up). 7 patients underwent the fixation of coronoid fractures and other 8 patients were treated coronoid fracture conservatively. For clinical evaluations, the range-of-motion (ROM) of the elbow, the Mayo-Elbow-Performance Score (MEPS) and the modified Broberg-Morrey score between two groups were evaluated at the last follow-up.
