Introduction and Background
Superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) has been used for the tendon grafting of massive rotator cuff tears when primary repair is difficult. This study was to examine the clinical and radiological outcomes of at least 1-year follow-up after surgery in patients who underwent SCR using Achilles tendon-bone allograft.
Material and Method
In a retrospective comparative study, we evaluated 19 patients who underwent SCR using the Achilles tendon-bone allograft from November 2018 to November 2019. Pre- and post-operative 1 year and last follow-up clinical data including visual analog pain rating, range of motion (ROM), muscle strength, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons system, and Constant system were obtained. Computed tomography (CT) and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed before surgery; at 6 and 12 months after surgery. Radiographic analysis included acromiohumeral interval and graft integrity 1-year after surgery.
Results
