Increased oxidative stress is considered as a major cause of endothelial dysfunction, which is linked to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. Accordingly, this study was undertaken to identify the cytoprotective peptides from blue mussel and to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying the cytoprotective in oxidative stress-mediated endothelial injury. In this study, two peptides with the sequence of FTVN and EPTF were identified and their cytoprotective effects were confirmed.
