Animal welfare in laboratory animals is a very important area in terms of the dignity and ethics of life. In the production of laboratory animals, animal welfare is also a very important factor in the reproduction and development of animals.
In the dictionary definition, animal welfare refers to "keeping animals in a happy state with minimal pain" and the definition in the Society of American Veterinary, animal welfare refers to "everything related to animal welfare, such as the provision of proper residential environment, care, responsible care, and humanitarian treatment for animals."
In order to be good at animal welfare, efforts are needed to understand and implement the concept of the five major freedoms of animal welfare (proposed by the Farm Animal Welfares Council, 1993 in the United Kingdom).
