Currently, the number of infants and toddlers is gradually decreasing in Korea due to population decline and aging, and accordingly, kindergarten facilities are integrated with elementary schools to transform into an annex kindergarten. These annex kindergarten facilities are built and operated in a form linked to elementary schools, and are used as a space focused on elementary school students. This means that there is little space that can be used for infants and toddlers, and it can be seen that the space given to infants is insufficient. Along with this trend, the importance of the current kindergarten curriculum and educational environment has emerged, and education revisions responding to these trends. And various educational methods are being studied. In this study, the purpose of this study is to examine the process of change in the Korean kindergarten education environment and to derive the spatial composition and characteristics of a low-rise, short-storied kindergarten based on the reviewed contents. This aims to examine the types and characteristics of Korea"s low-rise, short-stayed kindergarten architectural space suitable for the future.
