Currently, hydrogen energy is attracting attention as an alternative energy source because it is free from pollution and can be used in various fields such as households and construction vehicles. As interest in hydrogen energy increases, government investments and companies’ technology development are actively being made. The technology development related to hydrogen energy in the interior is actively progressing, but the storage and transport efficiency is low. Most of domestic hydrogen energy transportation is carried out in the form of a tube trailer. The tube trailer carries a cartridge consisting of a hydrogen storage container (Bundle) and a skid that supports the storage container, and moves the charging station and production facility. Hydrogen storage containers applied to domestic tube trailers can be compressed and stored at a level of 200 bar. storage and transportation efficiency can be improved if the compressed amount of the storage container is increased to 350 bar level. Since such a tube trailer is transported through an actual road with a hydrogen storage container compressed at high pressure, the structural stability of the skid supporting the hydrogen storage container must be secured.
In this paper, we presented a hydrogen trailer model that can load and unload cartridges using arm-roll system. The purpose of this study was to predict the structural stability of the skid when a hydrogen storage container with a compression amount of 350 bar and a hydrogen skid were loaded onto a trailer. To predict the structural stability of the skid, structural analysis was performed using ABAQUS. The maximum stress value for the rotation angle of the arm roll was predicted.
