Bachelard deals with space in <Poetics of Space>, but not architecture but figuratively dealing with space in poetry or novels. All objects represent material images of the four elements (water, fire, earth, and air) that make up the world, and there are mainly images that appear strongly, so the artist is said to mainly reveal one material element in his work. In addition, since the four elements always cause confrontational fusion of different material images, it can be predicted that the images of "water, fire, and earth" will also appear in opposing and harmonious ways. As such, this study is about how, when a four-element material image is applied to architecture, a person living in an architectural space or a person looking at a building conjures up a material image through the building as a medium.
