This study looks at the the efficient management of eco-friendly traffic improvement zones. Previously, most studies focused on the activated structure of the earth were divided into two categories, either mainly focusing on software aspects or physical aspects. The sites for this study include the Myeong-dong pedestrian-only roads, and the Yonsei-ro public transport-only zones. Prior to conducting this survey, we reviewed the assessment variables of prior research studies, deriving 21 evaluation variables that were deemed important in the revitalization of eco-friendly traffic improvement zones. These previously-derived evaluation variables were divided into the two categories of physical factors and software potential variables. Additionally, we also set additional activation potentials, and conducted data analysis in order to identify the structural formation and factors influencing the activation of eco-friendly traffic improvement zones.
As a result of this empirical analysis, the active structure of eco-friendly traffic improvement zones was formed only through the use of software factors, while physical factors were dismissed. Additionally, through the use of software factors, the mapping of high street events, links to parks, links to nearby areas, and images of streets, was possible. On the other hand, activation factors remained high in commercial districts and areas of high public transportation.
