The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of parental child-rearing attitudes on mobile phone dependence and to test the mediating effects of depression between the two variables in teenagers across the country. The data analyzed in this study is the panel data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study 2015. Major variables are parental child-rearing attitudes, mobile phone dependence and depression. The collected data are analysed by "SPSS 10.0 ", and the impact of moderation and change on the research model of the whole group is verified by AMOS. The results show that the parental child-rearing attitudes, the adolescents" mobile phone dependence and the depression are significantly correlated with each other. Secondly, in the relationship between the negative parenting attitudes and the adolescents" dependence on mobile phones, the mediating effect of depression is proven to be statistically significant. The higher the negative parental child-rearing attitudes, the more dependent on mobile phones by their youth. Theoretical and practical implications from this study are discussed. By educating proper parenting attitudes for the couple at their early stage of marriage, parents could strengthen their positive parenting attitudes and their children might feel less depression and might have little chance to fall in mobile phone dependence.
