Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationship model of coach support, leisure constraints negotiation and leisure benefit for golf participants.
Method: To achieve the goal of the study, a total of 250 questionnaires were distributed and 250 copies were collected back. Out of those returned questionnaires, insincerely replied or double-replied questionnaires were excluded and finally 244 questionnaires were analyzed for this study. For analysis of the data, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equating modeling were conducted using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0.
Results: Main findings were as follows: First, coach support had a positive effect on leisure constraints negotiation. Second, coach support had a positive effect on leisure benefit. Third, leisure constraints negotiation had a positive effect on leisure benefit. Finally, leisure constraints negotiation mediated the relationship between coach support and leisure benefit.
Conclusion: The role of a coach is very important for golf participants. Therefore, various ways to improve the quality of coaches, such as coach training programs, should be sought. Furthermore, various marketing strategies should be used to enhance the leisure constraint negotiation strategies of golf participants. Eventually, these efforts will lay the foundation for the popularization of golf through the improvement of the leisure benefits of golf participants.
