The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between big 5 personality traits of university students, employment stress, subjective wellbeing and major satisfaction. To verify the hypothesis, data were collected from the university students majoring in hotel and tourism management in Busan and Gyeongbuk, and a total of 206 responses were analyzed. The results were as follows. First, conscientiousness and openness to experience of big 5 personality traits were negatively and neuroticism was positively influenced on employment stress, but agreeableness, extraversion were not influenced on employment stress. Second, conscientiousness and openness to experience were positively and neuroticism was negatively influenced on subjective wellbeing, but agreeableness, extraversion were not influenced on subjective wellbeing. Third, employment stress was negatively and subjective wellbeing was positively influenced on major satisfaction. These results give practical implications for university students reducing job stress and enhance major satisfaction by helping college students self-reflect and improving their quality of life.
