The study is aimed at identifying residents" demand surveys for smart village application in rural development projects and seeking ways to develop them. In this study, the technical demand of villages where rural development projects were completed was identified as a way to overcome problems in rural areas. The project was aimed at the Happy Village Contest winning villages where village development was activated and objective evaluation was conducted. Through this village, the government wanted to explore the development direction of rural areas through the application of smart village.
Through prior research, the results of the demand survey were obtained by distinguishing living services that require smart technology, and the residents" interview confirmed the demand of local residents. The analysis showed a negative response to the living services to which smart technology will be applied, but positive responses to local communities suggested that smart village technology is necessary to suit the characteristics and status of rural villages in order to apply smart technology to rural villages.
