has conducted various studies on additional efficacy, but also interest in by-products has increased. Most plants are known to contain active ingredients in various areas. Among them, especially the leaves of aronia is unused parts but It is expected to have considerable potential. So we need to research and develop on their usefulness. Therefore we tried to evaluate the basic safety and effectiveness of aronia leaves. We were conducted DPPH experiments to confirm the antioxidant effects of Aronia melanocarpa leaf ethanol extract (ALEE). In addition, we were conducted cell viability experiments for the safety of the human body and the concentration of cell efficacy evaluation. Based on this result, we conducted cell-level experiments involving skin moisturizing factors. HAS2 gene expression, Hyaluronic acid synthesis assay and Hyaluronidase inhibition assay were performed to confirm the skin moisturizing effect in vitro. The results of the antioxidant experiments were not remarkable but in the experiment related to skin moisturization, significant results were obtained. In HAS2 gene expression evaluation, aronia leaf was able to identify distinct gene bands expression and the other experiments also confirmed remarkable results. Summarizing these results, ALEE contributes to skin moisturization through hyaluronidase inhibition as well as HAS2 gene activity.
