As modern people search for healing even in their hectic daily routine and to control their weary minds through exercise and hobbies, they have also shown a great interest in art therapy, into which the beauty and stability of nature are painted. While coloring leftover hair from beauty salons and painting beautiful nature, they become more focused and immersed and earn a feeling of accomplishment. Through this, they are eventually able to control their minds. In this study, four different works were designed using leftover hair based on Paul Cezanne’s still-life paintings. This study attempted to recreate his works with a new perspective by elaborating on and combining his multiple angles and views and create unique hair art by reconstructing plane painting images in a formative and 3D form. For this, this study reviewed theoretical characteristics of still-life paintings through analysis of previous studies. In terms of empirical research, four works were chosen among Paul Cezanne’s still-life paintings and reinterpreted using leftover hair. Based on the shape, color and spatial composition of his paintings, this study targeted an expression of these works in a 3D fashion with multiple views. This study was able to analyze the nature of objects that Paul Cezanne aimed to express and examine inner elements, not from an observation perspective. It has also added hair art created through waste hair recycling to aesthetic art and expressed creative art. This study has made such waste hair-recycled hair art practical and easily accessible by the general public. It is anticipated that waste hair from beauty salons could be a direct or indirect means to heal people’s mind by giving them an opportunity to design the beauty of nature and draw closer to nature.
