The purpose of this study was to qualitatively explore the attitude of college students in emerging adulthood toward gender sensitivity education for early childhood. The study engaged 162 college students attending higher-learning institutions in the metropolitan area. Data were collected through the visual methodology, and the collected data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method. Using visual materials, two children’s picture books related to gender sensitivity were presented to the participants. The first topic was about gender flexibility and the other topic was about tolerance toward sexual orientation. The results of this study were as follow. First, gender flexibility education attitudes were different according to attribution to social learning, and innate characteristics and respect for individuality, and confusion of identity. Second, the education attitude about tolerance toward sexual orientation differed according to the conflict between diversity acceptance and heteronormativity and consideration of discrimination and universality of children of homosexual families. This study led to a discourse on gender sensitivity education by qualitatively studying the attitudes of college students at a time when there was insufficient research on attitudes toward gender-sensitive education for young children. It would contribute to promoting the discourse on gender sensitivity education after providing the basic data on gender sensitivity education.
