The purpose of this study is to suggest a method to detect the degree of oldness of joint mortar in advance when reinforcing the wall of the old buildings, to present basic data of the reinforcement design by deriving the correlation with the experimental result value by the experiment, and to present the standard of the reinforcement design of the wall of the existing buildings.
The shear (attachment) strength test of the horizontal joint mortar at the site 15 years old showed 853N, and the strength degradation of 24.78% was observed compared to the use of the new constructed building. This may be a problem at the time of construction in the past, or it may be a decrease in strength due to rapid neutralization of mortar, so it is necessary to grasp the tendency through additional field confirmation.
