Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review the current status osfp orts policy for elderly established and implemented through Plan for Ageing Society
Method: Content analysis was carried out mainly on the Plan for Ageing Society and the central department’ splan, which were the literature data produced in the process of promoting the Plan for Ageing Society.
Results: The results of the study were as follows. First, the sports pliocy for elderly project under the Plan for Ageing Society was being promoted by the Ministry of Healt hand Welfare and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. There were hub public health center operation, health mileage, senior sport coach training, gymnastics development, sports festival for the elderly adn the budget for sports policy for elderly was ups and down, but it had generally increasing. Second, critically reviewing the sports policy for elderly project in accordance with the Plan for Ageing Society, it was hard to say that the sports policy for elderly was a blueprint as a basic plan, and it was not considered as an important policy tool despite being an importance policy instrument for responding to the aging society. In addition, soprts policy for elderly was inefficient due to the dual structure in department in charge, and the policy project task in the basic plan followed the existing policy without reflecting the change in policy environment.
Conclusion: It is found that sports policy for elderly according to Plano rf Ageing Society is not new at all, and that there is no significant change in its role and status.
