Report Errors
The purpose of this study is to compare the competitiveness of Korean promising export products with those of China and Japan. The analytical method used the Revealed comparative advantage index (RCA) index and the Trade Specialization Index (TSI). For the analysis, we used the UN Comtrade DB to measure the comparative advantage of 10 promising products selected by HS code (6 units) for Korea, China and Japan.
The analysis shows that Korea, China, and Japan"s export competitiveness to Indonesia market is good in most of the 10 items. In particular, if Korea approaches the market fully utilizing environmental factors such as the Korean Wave, fostering the ICT industry in Indonesia, expanding the medical market, expanding construction infrastructure, and expanding e-commerce, Korea can gain an edge in competition between China and Japan.
