The purpose of this study is to suggest improvement of ENT (ear, nose and throat) by using ergonomic evaluation. This study evaluated work environment, work posture and subjective usability for ergonomic work analysis. The work environment was analyzed for work procedure and durations of time and frequency. The working posture was extracted from common postures and risk score of RULA. The subjective usability was analyzed based on questionnaire. The result of work environment, endoscope had the longest duration of time (520 sec) and spray had the highest frequency of use (24 times). As a result of common posture, it was observed that neck, shoulder and waist joints were flexed and twisted. The mean RULA score was 5.3 for the left side and 5.2 for the right side. It indicated that constant investigation and changes were required soon. The mean of overall subjective usability was 2.8, which was somewhat uncomfortable. Based on the results of this study, we suggested the ergonomics improvements of ENT examination. The location and orientation of the examination monitor and keyboard must be adjustable to accommodate the user’s anthropometric dimensions. Endoscope and spray with a pistol shape would reduce workload and stress. The modular design may help improve its usability because it could be suitable for the user’s working environment.
