This paper examines the characteristics of experimental images and their emotional structures, and highlights the importance of emotional expression in the creation of experimental images. Further, this paper summarizes the emotional studies in the field of painting and film and applies them to the emotional study of experimental images. An appropriate emotional structure for experimental images should include four aspects: "human" emotions, emotions reflected through "objects", emotions reflected through different colors, and emotions reflected through music. Based on this theoretical framework, a comparative analysis of the work "Sleep" and Andy Warhol"s "Sleep" is conducted to demonstrate the important role of emotional structure as a narrative function in experimental images.
