This study attempts to verify the empirical data whether the star system is present in Korean entertainment programs. The authors analyzed the appearance levels of celebrities in entertainment programs and online news articles over the past decade. In both the entertainment programs and the press, appearances were concentrated in several specific celebrities. As the number of entertainment programs increased, the diversity of celebrities increased, but this trend has a limit. The increase in the number of entertainment programs seems to result in an increased stable standardization rather than an increase in diversity. The level of concentration in news articles is higher than the concentration in entertainment programs.
