A control system of a portable energy storage system, called TaLis has been developed as a direct solution to the absence of communication between devices and the user in distance or rural areas. The system is composed of LoRa RF95 module as wireless communication equipped with Bluetooth device. In this paper, we investigated the performance of this control system when transmitting and receiving an on/off command for TaLis. Our research focused on basic diode antenna and controlling the device using a remote android platform which was connected to the LoRa RF95 module. The developed control system might provide a maximum distance (between the transmitter and the receiver module of LoRa RF9) of about 1 km. The strength and capability of the LoRa system can be measured by the RSSI (Receive Signal Strength Indicator) obtained from the serial monitor by the Arduino module. The results showed that the RSSI values were ranging from -27 dBm to -107 dBm, depending on the locations that the device were tested. This study exhibited the possibility to control a device in the area without internet using a radio-base communication.
