Purposes: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the stress in the developmental disabilities and the life satisfaction and to examine the moderating effects of disability acceptance. Method: By using the 8th Panel Survey on Employment of the Disabled, the frequency, correlation and regression were performed. Results: Firstly, for persons with developmental disabilities – unlike for persons with other disabilities - gender, educational background and marital status do not have statistical significance on life satisfaction. Secondly, the disability related stress and disability acceptance have a significant impact on life satisfaction of persons with developmental disabilities. Thirdly, with regard to the relationship between disability related stress and life satisfaction the moderating effects of disability acceptance were not verified for persons with developmental disabilities, while for persons with other disabilities the effects were verified. Conclusion: It is necessary to improve the level of life satisfaction of persons with disabilities through the programs aimed to resolve disability related stress. In addition, empowerment and emotional adaptation programs should be provided to strengthen and increase disability acceptance.
