The purpose of this survey is to understand tendency of how ordinary people from 10 to 50 years of age in Korea use self-hairdye. The general characteristic of survey participants are as below. Sex: women, Age: twentieth, Job: student, Education level: university student, Average monthly income: less than won 500,000. The survey was conducted based on frequency analysis and multiple response analysis. The majority of survey participants answered they’ve experienced self-hairdye and most using items products are Oxidation hair color, Color Treatment, hair bleaching, Acid hairdye, vegetable hairdye in order. The reason of satisfaction with selfhairdye is affordable price, no need to visit hair salon and save time, free choice of color in order. The cross-tabulation was also conducted to study the difference of usage of hairdye. The places that survey participant generally buy hairdye are off-line store, Internet, Mobile, TV &Home shopping, hair salon, etc. The response results were different based on education level and age group. To get information for hairdye product before use, the survey participants refer to internet, family & friends, home shopping, TV & radio, hair designer, news paper & magazine, etc in order. The response results were different based on age group. The survey participants answered the usage period of hairdye as follows. Ones a year, once a 2-3month, once a month, once a 6 month, once a 3- 5month. Twice a month in order. The response results were different based on age group and education level. The improvements of Self-hairdye that survey participants answered are as follows. The convenient way of use, accurate indication of ingredient, simple manual, convenience of purchase, etc in order. According our survey, most survey participants have positive perception for selfhairdye without distinction of age and sex. In reality, there is positive change about perception of self-hairdye and many people actually do self-hairdye these days. Therefore the demend for seld-hairdye would tend to increase. However, the more popularity it tends, the more side effect it might be expected. Therefore, the manufacturer of self-hairdye should invest development for the most safe hairdye product and try to minimize side effect.
