The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the benchmark relationship between ISO 9001: Quality Management System Standards and efficiency of logistics companies in South Korea which deficiencies can explore an effect of the relationship between ISO 9001 certification and management efficiency. This study applies data envelopment analysis (DEA) and statistical methodologies to explore the operation efficiency and analyze the relation of ISO 9001 and the efficiency of 19 Korean logistics companies from 2001 to 2017. The results present that ISO 9001 standard has a negative effect on the efficiency of logistics companies and suggest that the increase of management efficiency in the logistics companies does not depend on the application of ISO 9001 standard in the administration system. The study provides a simple but comprehensive methodology for understanding and improving logistics competencies by evaluating the efficiency of logistics companies. This research contributes an analyzing guideline for the impact on the organization’s performance after using ISO 9001 standards and improving technical which affect the development of the Korean logistics industry in the future.
