Technical change in special makeup, which is being developed on the basis of the background of Hollywood film industry, is having a great influence upon the technical education in South Korea. That is because the realistic expression of special makeup in satisfying the needs of modern people, who are proceeding with being accustomed to a stimulating video, increases the immersion in appreciation on a work.
The purpose of this study is to compare merits and demerits through the process of making 3D transfer slab and silicon slab among scar slab production techniques, which are being used now the most in line with a change in this modern industry, and to suggest a method of making an efficient scar slab based on the outcome.
As a result, the 3D transfer slab has a strong point as saying of heightening the makeup sustainability due to excellent adhesive strength, and of being very simple in the makeup process, but has high probability for a failure in the freezing process during the manufacture process in the scar design of requiring a three-dimensional effect. Also, a deep-freezer and a dryer are needed. When there is no drying machine, the natural drying time takes long. The silicon slab is available for the three-dimensional scar design. Slab can be attached even to the surface with a curve in the makeup region. Modification is possible when slab was sticked wrongly. On the other hand, it takes a long time in makeup, has a case of needing to close the seams in order to direct the natural edge, and has possibility of causing a skin trouble because air circulation does not work. In consequence of comparing merits and demerits through the making process, a makeup artist should know how to select a slab production method in line with a situation based on a change & manufacture process following the makeup in each slab, on the production cost and on a film site condition, and will need to have even ability available for modifying and supplementing suitably for a characteristic of a material.
