‘Odae 1’ is a very-early maturing and high quality rice cultivar developed by the rice breeding team at the National Institute of Crop Science, R.D.A., Suweon, Korea in 2005. ‘Odae 1’ was derived from a cross between ‘Ilpumbyeo’ and ‘Jinbu 10’ in 1991 summer season. ‘Odae 1’ has heading date of July 29, height average 65 cm in culm length and resistance to lodging because its study culm. ‘Odae 1’ is moderately resistant to rice blast diseases but susceptible to bacterial blight, virus diseases and most insect pest. Milled rice kernel of ‘Odae 1’ is clear in appearance, low in amylose content and excellent in palatability. Yield level of ‘Odae 1’ was an average milled rice of 5.31 MT/ha under the ordinary culture of the local adaptability test in the mid-northern inland plain region and east-northern coastal region, east-northern mountainous region. ‘Odae 1’ would be highly adaptable to the mid-northern inland plain region and east-northern coastal region, east-northern mountainous region of Korea.
