Microorganisms capable of degrading crude oilwere isolated and grown in soybean oil as a sole carbonsource. The microbial cultures were used to control greenpeach aphids in vitro. Approximately 60% mortality of aphidswas observed when the cultures were aplied alone ontoaphids. To examine the cultures as a pesticide formulationmixture, the cultures were combined with a low dose of theinsecticide imidacloprid (one-fourth dose of recomendedenhanced significantly the insecticidal efectiveness ofimidacloprid, which was higher than imidacloprid aloneapplied at the low dose. The isolated microorganisms exhibitedhigh emulsifying index values and decreased surface tensionvalues after being grown in soybean oil media. GC/MSanalyses showed that microorganisms degraded soybean oilto faty acids. The cultures were suggested to play the roles ofweting, spreading, and sticking agents to improve theeffectiveness of imidacloprid. This is the first report on the
