This paper aims to properly understand literary work selection and literary works for culture education of foreign advanced learners in Korean language education. This paper is focused on the works which contain thematic consciousness, 'familism' and 'resistance consciousness' of value culture which is the core culture among Korean cultural elements. Especially, this study is intended to suggest a 'narrative frame' that combines common thematic consciousness of various works, rather than offering some scenes of works as tools for culture education. In chapter 2, the value of literary text as Korean culture education, cultural elements and all the contents of value culture were considered and the selection principle was analyzed. In chapter 3, the selected 7 works were divided into two groups and then the intrinsic meaning of each work and the narrative context when they were appreciated as a group, were presented. The works were analyzed, from the perspective of historical philosophy on the frame of value culture and this study put weight on finding the objective fact for educational purposes, rather than leaning towards the subjective evaluation. This suggestion can be a foundation and an opportunity to deeply understand value culture for advanced learners who learn Korean language and Korean language teachers that should teach Korean culture.
