This paper studied on a plan to reinforce the international competitiveness of the aerospace industry. In spite of being a core national industry capable of strengthening national competitiveness, independent technology development is quite difficult due to the enormous investment costs and uncertainty. Thus, as a plan for the efficient reinforcement of Korean aerospace industry’s competitiveness, we presented the possibility of high technology transfer and technology improvement through strategic alliance with foreign firms. According to the results of analyzing 532 cases of international alliances from 1980 to 2000, effective technology transfer is possible when the haracteristics of international alliances are R&D and licensing, and investment cost, network among countries and product features showed to affect such technology transfer.
