This study examines how school district and parents’ educational involvement in their children’s English education influence children’s private education and achievement in English. Survey questions were given to 384 high school students, half of whom belonged to one academic high school in school district 8 and the other half of whom were in another school district. The students in the first group show better results than the latter in terms of the parents’ educational periods, monthly earnings, educational attitudes to their children as well as the cost paid for their children’s English private education. Also, the students whose parents have active attitude in their children’s English education show higher scores in English achievement tests and benefit more from private education. EBS is the most popular private education whereas after school program is the least popular.
