This study is to find out the possible universal rule of zero article, which is most basic yet convoluted. In English and Italian, article is shown in the form of indefinite article, definite article, and zero article in a sentence. The usage of the article which consists of various rules is a challenging obstacle for those who do not have linguistic intuition for the two languages, like Korean learners. They cannot aggregate all the variations and use it properly despite their knowledge learned from school. The system of article is the most basic part of grammar in any western languages. However, as everyone knows, when it comes to the matter of the emergence and absence of an article, it becomes the most difficult problem. When we find out what kind of limited rules there are in ruling the use of zero article, that it is language-universal, and that the language-specific difference is made through parameterization, it will help learners have knowledge of the use of the article and give them clues to our understanding of its system. Therefore, it is indispensable to present a new grammar that can clarify the system of the indefinite article, definite article and zero article.
