The purpose of this paper is to apply information structure theory to Classical Chinese and clarify the relation of yi以-preposition phrase word-order and information structure. Information structure is the grammatical components that govern the relation between speakers' assumption and sentence structures or the relation between contexts and sentence structures. Two main principles applied to the analysis of yi以-preposition word-order are topic and focus. The reversing of word order between yi以-preposition and object governed by that preposition is the part of topicalization and a method that realize different information structure through the prominence of contrastive topics. The word order variation related to yi以-prepositions phrase and verb phrases has the effect that different foci come into prominence through that word order variation. In Classical Chinese, the two word orders related to yi以-preposition phrase are proper discourse-pragmatic process that realize information structure.
