<Minongjeon> (a story about an old man whose surname is Min) is a work which lets the public know about the existence of a storyteller in novel literature of the late Chosun Dynasty. Especially, in the 18th century when author's consciousness developed, storytellers played a great role in spreading classic novels. In this sense, Minong(An old man whose surname is Min) who is a main character of <Minongjeon> is a big achievement and has a significant meaning in distribution of classic novels of the times. What was paid attention by Ji-won Park who is the author of this work also has something in common with this. Namely, Minong wanted to illustrate a critical mind against realistic contradictions showing esthetics of humor and farce through facetious comments filled with satire and witty remarks. This means that contrary to the situation that novel literature was fixed to types until then, it developed in more diverse ways. The reason that the existence of storytellers is important in the late Chosun Dynasty is because through them, it is possible to see that literary expressions developed in more various ways like this. <Minongjeon> tried to show a critical mind against social conditions at that time through the leading character who was liberal but underprivileged. In addition, the author, Ji-won Park also tried to explore the real world of the times and universal values that novel literature has through the main character of Minong.
