This thesis is studied about transmission aspect and literature function of false tomb. First it is considered transmission background of false tomb, and then is considered its existence aspect and literature function. On this consideration it is examined literary historical meaning of false tomb. The main contents is summarized as follows.
First, it is transmission background of false tomb. False tomb is used death as literature equipment. Diachronically among the fiction literature, bizarre story affects false tomb of classic novel. Synchronically in the late of Cho-sun Dinasty though narration technique is various, death of traditional fiction literature is made a use of false tomb fitted for times.
Second, it is existence aspect of false tomb. False tomb is confirmed Guunmong at first. False tomb of Guunmong is for rising of harmony and enjoyment. And in Oyuranjeon satire and spiritual awakening on boatrocker, in Gangreungmaehwataryeong for satire and damage on boatrocker, false tomb is used variously.
Third, it is aim consciousness of false tomb. False tomb shows a meeting and separation of classical novel shockingly. The main character with problem shocked through false tomb, then main character’s behavior has characterized. With considering these things, false tomb is useful aspect for realization of narration beauty.
Fourth, it is literary historical meaning of false tomb. False tomb is used for narration uplifting for a long time. Actually, this false tomb is revealed characteristic of each times effectively. And this means that the aim of classical novel is showed through the false tomb. So the false tomb has an important meaning in literature history.
