This paper pursues a viable way of treating VP ellipsis along with the notion of representational Subjacency. We first point out some potential problems with MaxElide approach advanced in Merchant (2008). As an alternative or an extension of it, we propose that a kind of representational notion of Subjacency is needed to account for all potentially-problematic cases of wh-extraction out of VP elliptical site.
