The present work has focused on a theory of VP ellipsis licensing via an Agree relation between an [E]-feature and the ellipsis licensing head based on Aelbrecht (2010). Aelbrecht mainly studies on VPEs in finite clauses. I extended his idea to overall VPEs including non-finite clauses and negations. In finite clauses, the licensor is the auxiliaries in T, which have the categorial feature of finite T, [F-T], whereas the head, Voice, has an E-feature and an uninterpretable feature, [u[F-T]], which makes it active in matching the categorial feature of [F-T] in the licensor. By this agreement, the complement of Voice, namely vP, is elided at PF. In non-finite clauses, the process of agreement becomes rather complex because the infinitival to is defective. The infinitival to has a categorial feature of non-finite T, [Nf-T]. This [Nf-T] is not strong enough to license VPE by itself. Therefore, at PF, to should incorporate with the higher verb which θ-marks to the infinitival clause. In such incorporation, the uninterpretable feature of Voice, [u[F-T]], can finally match the categorial feature of [F-T] contained in the higher verb. By this agreement, a vP can be elided. Finally, a head Neg in negations matches the uninterpretable feature of [u[Neg[not]] contained in Voice, and its E-feature finally licenses VPE.
