We investigated the effect of eyelash extension on eyelashes health problems, and also showed that howeffective eyelash nutritional supplements available in the market could be for preventing eyelash damage. In a group right the eyelashes naturally without using nutritional supplements after eyelash extension, thethickness and length of their eyelashes were thinner and shorter than they were before the extension,respectively. It also has been demonstrated by the scanning electron microscope (SEM) that cuticles of theeyelashes got damaged severely by the extension. It seems that these changes resulted in the bending ofthe eyelash shape unpleasantly. However, the condition of the eyelashes treated with common nutritionalsupplements after the extension were as good as that of healthy eyelashes before the extension. Takentogether, we demonstrated that the eyelash extension causes a high degree of damage to eyelashes anduse of appropriate supplements could protect the health of eyelashes from such damage.
