The article tried to interpret the problem of social existence of people who live their lives in early 1960s, from the perspective of ‘death’, ‘money’ and ‘conduct of life’ reproduced in Korean movies, assuming it as historical transition period with two revolutions, although paying attention to joy and sorrow of people. It was tried to confirm that that ‘death’ was directly related with social existence that people had to endure through the reproduction of conflicts between modern and pre‐modern, economic survival, and conflicts and reconciliation between generations through ‘death’ in movies. This ‘death’ is not interpreted as negative meaning only such as termination or finishing. It becomes actively included in the positivity of life by meaning new restart. Death reflecting joy, sorrow and anxiety of public becomes the ground composing the philosophy of ‘money’ and ‘conduct of life’ emerging in 1960s. To people living in the currents of 1960s, crisis like ‘death’ came but it did not terminate everything but make new philosophy of ‘money’ and ‘conduct of life’ emerged to overcome it. ‘Conduct of life’ is converged to the theory of vocation and makes a theory that we should be faithful to the given job within the fence of family rather than pursue wealth, fame or social recognition. Humble vocation theory based on ethical values such as ‘Honesty’ and ‘Faithfulness’ can be seen as philosophy of ‘Conduct of Life’. In movies it is reproduced that they would acquire ‘money’ naturally and as if it were the only way to stability and happiness of life. Family movies reproducing these values occupied stable position by succeeding in being a box‐office hit and getting its artistic value recognized. Of course, value of generation reproduced in family movies has limitations in that it pursued the happiness of self and contributed to self‐protection and composition of conservative values. It should not be overlooked that these values could be the meeting points with economic modernization policy that the ruling group wanted to achieve through revolutions. However, it should be noted that family movies are not the reproduction of specific ideologies that two revolutions had brought but the reflection of values that public wanted to go for while they were experiencing revolutions.
