After the Pacific War, the postwar reform was carried out by the United States in Japan. It has changed Japan. At that time, the Japanese movie was based upon the theme of demilitarization and democratization. And, the past of Japan was reflected in the movie. <There is not regret in our youth>(1946) is the one of just such a works. This makes a history of Japan’s militarism a background.
This shows the characters’ life from 1933 to 1945. And, This makes Japanese audiences at that time judged a history of Japan and an individual history. This denies the past of Japan and emphasizes the change of Japan in postwar period.
However, this cannot present a fundamental cause to the war, and focuses on only some part of the Japanese. The reasons are that most of the production participants of the movie were the war cooperators, and that postwar reform was carried out by the United States.
